About This Project

I took over the management of this small 4 acre woodland in 2014 as the owners wanted to produce woodfuel for their farmhouse and make the woodland more accessible as a recreational space. Working closely with the owners we began an annual coppicing rotation and increased stocking density with sweet chestnut, birch and oak. In 2018 we also built an 8m diameter roundhouse with larch structure, reciprocating roof and straw bale walls to be used as a holiday let and artists studio.
